I'M LUKAS

An artist from a small Southern California surf town, Encinitas now living in Austin, TX with my wife & camera.

Growing up, my life consisted of surfing and eat burritos. But after coming home from the beach or the taco shop my other interest was doodling and drawing in my notebook. I have always been creative and enjoyed the way I was able to express myself through different mediums of art. It wasn't until I took a photography class in high school that I finally found a way to combine my love for creating & made a career out of my passion. In my eyes being successful means doing something with my time and energy that gives me joy. From the moment I picked up my first camera until now, my passion has transformed into creating images that stand out from the rest. Using color, light and shape, I strive to create my own medium of art, art that not everyone looks at and thinks "Photography".

Inspiration

Lukas' inspiration comes from a passion for color. Color is defined as the property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way the object reflects or emits light. That resonates. What you might see as 'yellow' might not be the same 'yellow' that someone else sees....

Techniques

Lukas creates most of his art in his own home studio. Using color, light and shape, he strives to make his photographs look like different mediums of artwork, and leave the viewer wondering if it was even a photograph to begin with.

Education

Lukas graduated in 2018 from California State University Sacramento with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art Photography,
